Make Your Forum Seem More Active – One Simple Trick
I know there are a lot of modifications out there that can falsely modify your forum’s posts counts and such, but that will not help you with your forum at all. The tip I am going to provide you with now can actually help your forum become more active. Remember that activity breeds activity, so if you are able to create some more activity, more should come after that. This technique makes your forum seem more active by concentrating the posts in smaller numbers of forums. So let me explain what it is.
Making Your Forum Seem More Active Even If It Has The Same Activity As Before
The way you make your forum seem more active is by reducing the total number of forums you have. Try condensing your board to only a few forums and it will make it seem more active because more posts will be posted between the smaller number of forums.
Why It Works
Let’s think about it for a bit, would you post in a board that has 30 forums with 0 posts in them or post in a board that has a single forum with 0 posts in it? It’s that simple of an idea. You also concentrate the few posts you have into the small number of forums, so instead of having 5/10 forums active, you will have 5/5 forums active. This will eventually increase activity because it makes it seem that your forum is more active than it really is.
Have a Good Active Member to Forum Number Ratio
If you only have a handful of active members then you should only have a handful of forums on your board. If you have too many forums in comparison to your active member count then something called the “ghost town effect” happens. This is where certain forums are left almost completely abandoned and just make your overall board seem less active. If activity breeds activity, then having less activity will breed less activity. If your members think the forum is lacking in activity, then it’s time you do something about it, and this is one technique you can use to make your forum seem more active than it really is.

I like this. I have never been a fan of using mods and codes to cheat your way through board stats. Manipulation is much better. LOL

Well, I tried this and all it has done is make the forum less organized.

Hey Saohc,
Does your forum have much activity to begin with? This doesn’t “generate” activity in a physical form. What I tried to make sure you guys understood from the article is that “activity breeds activity.” It’s like someone telling you they can double the money you have in your pocket, but then you realize you have no money in your pocket. You don’t really get much activity from your forum if you don’t have some to begin with. This article shows you how to make your forum seem like it has more activity, with the hope that “activity breeds activity.” You understand the concept now?
So could that be the problem? If not, give me a link to your forum and I’ll see what I can suggest.

I remember seeing your forum before, and I can’t really see much change. You currently have 10 index forums (more if you can’t sub-forums) yet you hardly have active members. Remember that you should have a good active member to forum number ratio.
Your forum also lacks focus. From what I see, your forum is about Blitzkampf, yet there are forums about other games that, from what I see, are completely unrelated.
Can you see how this does not help your forum at all? It’s no longer a forum about Blitzkampf.

Well, I talk about other games, maybe I should make more topics and post in the “Akatsuki Blitzkampf” area, to encourage people to post there.

You really need to set your focus and make it clear to the world. There’s not just one thing that will radically change your forum. You need to apply a list of things to make it very successful, but start with getting one or two “golden members.”

I am quite conservative when it comes to the amount of forums on my index page. Whatever forums I have, I want to be sure that I can regularly create new content for them. In order to do that, I have to be sufficiently knowledgeable about the subject.

Hey Medora,
The correct number of forums on your index page is really important and it’s great you have a grasp on that concept. Posting regularly on each of your forums will no doubt bring more activity into each one.
Your forum seems interesting, and I hope the best for it!
